A NOTE FROM DAVID DORFMAN
We are here in this intimate space together – it’s almost like a body, a vessel, a container for movement art, healing, and ever active minds and souls searching for new realities. Our exploration of “Out of Body” experiences was the springboard for what has turned into a meditation on the frailty and power of the body, the power of our collective will, the magic of touch, our vivid hopes – and a never-ending dive into our past to understand our present and future.
I, along with DDD, wish to fervently thank Sharon Moore, Liza Green, Stephanie Clark, David Jones, and the entire staff at NC State LIVE for inviting us back to the wonderful Stewart Theatre to perform (A)Way Out of My Body. We have met so many lifetime friends through our Athletes’ and Family Projects here spanning back to 1995, were on hand with “Prophets of Funk” for your 40th, and now are humbled to be here once again for your 50th!!!
Congrats to you all, and enjoy your experience tonight!
PROTECT THE PACK
NC State LIVE is fully committed to the health and wellness of our campus, community and artists. We are following NC State University’s Community Standards as of the date of the event. Currently, face coverings are not required on campus but are encouraged indoors.
50 YEARS OF IMPACT
As we reflect on our golden anniversary, we are igniting a vision for the next 50 years of transformative performing arts. Our donors are essential to building a legacy for the next generation of artists and audiences. Gifts make it possible for NC State LIVE to deliver our mission to connect artists and audiences on and beyond the stage.
There are multiple ways to make your gifts: cash gifts, appreciated securities, corporate matching programs, and estate planning. Learn how you can impact NC State LIVE through your philanthropy.
