A NOTE FROM DAVID DORFMAN

We are here in this intimate space together – it’s almost like a body, a vessel, a container for movement art, healing, and ever active minds and souls searching for new realities. Our exploration of “Out of Body” experiences was the springboard for what has turned into a meditation on the frailty and power of the body, the power of our collective will, the magic of touch, our vivid hopes – and a never-ending dive into our past to understand our present and future.

I, along with DDD, wish to fervently thank Sharon Moore, Liza Green, Stephanie Clark, David Jones, and the entire staff at NC State LIVE for inviting us back to the wonderful Stewart Theatre to perform (A)Way Out of My Body. We have met so many lifetime friends through our Athletes’ and Family Projects here spanning back to 1995, were on hand with “Prophets of Funk” for your 40th, and now are humbled to be here once again for your 50th!!!

Congrats to you all, and enjoy your experience tonight!
