About the Performance

“…their light-footed, sometimes cheeky production grows into something expansive and challenging, exploring deeper aspects of storytelling and human behavior through Lucky Plush’s signature blend of insight and play.” –Chicago Reader

Many of you caught a glimpse into Rooming House when Lucky Plush Productions was in residence with NC State LIVE developing the new work in fall of 2017. Now’s your chance to catch the final version! This intricate dance/theatre piece begins with an intimate conversation among friends recalling stories of people who’ve taken actions with potentially devastating costs.

When the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice is mentioned, varied interpretations and contemporary associations propel the group into a physically and psychologically complex game of whodunit (based loosely on the poplar board game of Clue). Playful and personal, this spirited, diverse company uses their own stories to make cases for what we believe in and how we alter perceptions of what is real.

This presentation is funded in part by a grant from South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
