ABOUT THE SHOW

Absolutely incredible.

-Rolling Stone

We all know The Ugly Duckling as the classic tale of belonging by Hans Christian Andersen, but we’ve never seen it quite like this! Using cutting edge lighting technology, Lightwire Theater (semi-finalists on NBC’s America’s Got Talent), brings the beloved story to life in a blaze of color.

The result is an unforgettable theatrical experience blending dazzling electroluminescent puppetry, poignant storytelling and the creative use of music from classical to pop, this production brings this tale into a new brilliant light.

Recommended for creative and curious minds ages 4 to 10 and their families.

NOTE: Due to a change in Lightwire Theater’s touring capacity, they will not be able to perform The Tortoise and the Hare with us in March as originally announced. Instead, they will be bringing you an NC State LIVE audience favorite, The Ugly Duckling.

PROTECT THE PACK

This could include changes to capacity, attendance prerequisites and other protective measures. As of February 28, face coverings are not required inside our theatres. Although face coverings are not required, you are encouraged to wear them if you feel more comfortable or safer doing so. In addition, Stewart Theatre has a state-of-the-art UV filtration system, extra hand sanitizing stations and paperless ticketing. Our seating for upcoming shows will be general admission to allow folks to find a seat where they feel most comfortable. In the event that a performance is cancelled, all tickets will be fully refunded.
