Frequently Asked Questions

What COVID-19 safety protocols are in place for the performances?

Stewart Theatre has a state-of-the-art UV air filtration system, extra hand sanitizing stations, and there will continue to be no paper tickets issued for the performances. We will keep you up to date with the current guidelines well in advance of your selected date. We’re following all public and University health requirements. Visit NC State’s Protect the Pack page to learn more about health and safety measures on campus.

Can I eat lunch on campus before/ after the performance with my students?

Unfortunately, due to the tight turnaround between matinee performances and cost to reserve the coliseum surface lot for buses, we normally can’t accommodate this request. However, if your group is attending the 12pm performance (and we are not sold out for the 10am) we can usually have 1-2 groups arrive early and eat outside by Talley Student Union (weather pending) before going into the theatre at 11:40am. Please contact Stephanie Clark at for additional questions.

*Please note this does not apply if you are arriving by car and parking in the coliseum pay lot.

Are there additional kid-friendly spots to eat near the theatre?

Yes! Pullen Park is a 2 minute drive from NC State, they have bus parking and picnic areas.  More information is located here:

Can I add additional chaperones the week leading up to the performance?

We ask that all chaperones, parents, and assistants be included in the total number of seats when you make the reservation in August. Thank you for your help and understanding!
