NC State LIVE Giving

Why give?

NC State LIVE’s mission is to connect artists and audiences in a meaningful exploration of the diverse cultures and issues that define our communities and world. With individual support, we can present programs that inspire new ways of thinking about the world while bringing people together to think and do the extraordinary.

How your gifts help:

  • A Voice for Everyone: Our goal is to amplify all voices. Each year dozens of community and campus organizations partner with our artists to spark creative solutions to local needs.
  • Bring the World to Campus: Residencies with artists from across the globe allow NC State students and artists to learn from one another and to create together in sustained, immersive ways.
  • Make a Difference in Your Community: Your support is cultivating future generations. Thousands of local K-12 students come to campus each year to see, hear, and feel the excitement of a live performance, some for the very first time.

NC State LIVE brought choreographer David Roussève to campus multiple times in 2018-19, allowing students to interact with, learn from, and be inspired by him as he finished his new piece,
"Halfway to Dawn."

“Every residency has its own personality. Each director and dancer is different. It’s so incredible and inspiring to think that they started right where we are.”

Think and Do the Extraordinary

The Campaign for NC State

The Think and Do the Extraordinary Campaign is the most ambitious fundraising effort in the history of NC State, with a goal of $1.6 billion in private support from the university’s remarkable alumni and friends.  Meeting this goal will allow NC State to achieve its potential as one of the most vital and prestigious research universities on the planet.  To date, more than $14.9 million has been raised for the arts on campus, but there is more work to be done. All gifts made to NC State LIVE count toward the campaign.  Before the campaign concludes in 2021, we are asking supporters like you to help us move NC State LIVE forward by funding strategic priorities including:

Artist residencies

Artist residencies allow students and artists to learn from one another and to create together in sustained, immersive ways. Arts NC State programs actively work with professional artists who are passionate about both creating and teaching. They engage our entire community, forging unforgettable partnerships between NC State and the worldwide community of artists. These experiences can only become regular parts of Arts NC State’s programming through significant investments of private support.

LIVE@Lake Raleigh sponsorships

NC State LIVE and Visit Centennial have teamed up to present a series of free sunset concerts in April and May on the shore of beautiful Lake Raleigh, located on NC State’s Centennial Campus in Southwest Raleigh. These family-friendly outdoor events are open to the public and feature an amazing lineup of musicians. Sponsorships will support the NC State LIVE Enhancement Fund within the NC State University Foundation. Sponsors have the unique opportunity to increase their brand visibility and reach, both within the campus community – students, faculty and staff, and employees of Centennial businesses – and the larger Triangle community. The concerts provide an excellent venue for sponsors to entertain key audiences, such as current or prospective clients, or employees and their families. In addition, sponsors will be on the forefront of fostering a thriving arts and cultural scene on the rapidly developing Centennial Campus and in Southwest Raleigh

Annual support

Every gift, no matter its size, makes a difference in the lives of students at NC State University.  Because annual gifts are typically used soon after they are received, we depend on ongoing support from alumni, parents, and community members.  Annual giving is your opportunity to influence the future of NC State LIVE, year after year.
