MAKE YOUR OWN PUPPETS
In collaboration with Duke Arts, puppeteers from Wakka Wakka Production’s The Immortal Jellyfish Girl(performing in Stewart Theatre on March 7 and 8) will offer a glimpse behind the process of creating a puppet.
Participants will hunt for uniquely shaped objects at The Scrap Exchange and transform their finds into expressive puppets.

The year is 2555: large swaths of earth’s surface are considered dead zones, and mass extinction has begun. There is a war and as both sides grow desperate, their thirst for destruction becomes more and more volatile. An improbable meeting between an orphan and a jellyfish girl threatens to tip the balance forever, but in whose favor, and at what cost?
Hilarious, ridiculous and virtuosic, The Immortal Jellyfish Girl is an action-packed, gripping tale of humanity on the brink of annihilation, and the unlikely heroine who just might save us all!

Wakka Wakka will be in residence with NC State LIVE for the week of March 3-8. In addition to the pre-show talk, we’ll host a puppet making workshop, and more! Check back soon for details.

Students in our University Honors Program will have the opportunity to meet the artists of Wakka Wakka and learn all about their creative process.
